Terminal Velocity - The terminal Velocity is the highest velocity (Speed) attained by an object in free fall. It occurs when the sum of the drag force equals the downward force of gravity acting on the object.
Stephen Gostkowski
Here we have a photo of Stephen Gostkowski taking a kick for the New England Patriots. As the football is kicked in the air it reaches its peak. After the peak it will go into a free fall and start falling down on a curve due to gravity. Once the drag force which is the air resistant and other variables acting upon the football equals out the gravity it will reach its terminal velocity.
Questions:
1. If a two balls were dropped at a height of 100 meters one of them being heavier which ball would reach terminal velocity first?
A. The lighter ball
2. Stephen Gostkowski kicks one ball 40 meters in the air. The second ball kicked goes 45 meters in the air. Which ball reached terminal velocity first?
A. They both reached it at the same time
